Ontario Public Interest Research Group of Peterborough
Join the Board!
Are you passionate about OPIRG-Peterborough’s vision and the work that we do? Want to get more involved? Consider becoming a volunteer Board member!
Among other things, the role of the Board is to support OPIRG’s projects, working groups, and committees; to be part of the planning, visioning and priority-setting for the organization; and to work collectively with the staff to oversee the work of the organization.
The OPIRG Board of Directors is comprised of 7 individuals. Most often, Board Members are Trent students, but faculty, community members, and former staff/interns/volunteers/researchers, as well as those with no previous OPIRG experience are also encouraged to apply.
A Board member’s minimum commitment is to attend biweekly meetings (about 2 hours in length) and 2 “office hours” per week. We ask that folks commit to at least one year.
